Collection: 'Sojourn' artworks by Paul Waycott

‘Sojourn’  An exhibition of new paintings by Paul Waycott

Exhibition open daily from 9am-4pm from Saturday 21st September - 10th November 2024

Paul Waycott is a Point Lonsdale, Victoria, based artist and educator. Drawing inspiration from Australian impressionism, his coastal compositions are a seasonal journey through the Bellarine region and are shaped by the transient nature of light and its endless variations in colour and mood.

“My latest body of work is a combination of several approaches to explore the many variations of landscapes present, on this section of the Bellarine. Having painted outdoors in the dunes, by the lake and in the paddocks, drawing, painting and then printing in the studio, these techniques have all been explored in an attempt to produce a multi layered and diverse view of this amazing and unique corner of the Bellarine.

"As impossible as it seemed, I wanted to create imagery that conjured a sense of time passing, wind blowing, tides drawing and clouds shadowing. Every moment unique, yet a familiar pattern forms and exists through the seasons and the cycles.”
